Y-Type Strainers for Corrosive Pipeline Protection
UNP’s Lined Y-Type Strainer protects downstream pumps, valves, and instrumentation from debris in corrosive process lines. The angled “Y” branch holds a removable perforated or mesh screen basket, which can be withdrawn for cleaning without disturbing the main pipe run.
The investment-cast WCB body is fully lined with PFA, FEP, or PVDF throughout the wetted path — including inside the strainer chamber where solids accumulate. Screen mesh size is specified at order time (typical: 40 mesh for 0.5″–2″, 30 mesh for 3″–8″).
The drain plug at the bottom of the Y allows accumulated solids to be flushed out periodically without removing the screen.
